Welcome to The Do Try This at Home School

Welcome to The Do Try This at Home School Website, I am so pleased that you came to visit. My name is Sarah Vaughan and I am a mum of three, a qualified teacher (who doesn’t teach in school), home educator, holistic therapist, certified life coach, writer, children’s author and founder of The Do Try This at Home School.

This website is the culmination of all my work supporting children and families over the past 20+ years and I hope that I am able to use all of my experiences and training to help you. At The Do Try This at home school our focus is on supporting the wellbeing of children and families in order to create a calmer, happier place for everyone to be able to learn and grow together.

Naturally Creative (New Book, out now!)

**NEWS**  My newest book is out and available to buy on Amazon!

t's here, it's finally HERE!! I have worked so hard, it has taken me 4 years of writing and trying out ideas to bring you the very best nature based activities I could create, and now I can share it all with you.

Naturally Creative is a book designed to inspire children and families to get outside, immerse themselves in the natural world and, most importantly, have fun together through play and creativity.

In this book, I will share seasonal activities to excite the imagination all year round, whatever the weather. For each activity, I have called upon my knowledge and experience both as an educator and as a parent to suggest possible learning outcomes and ways to extend learning further. So, if you are home educating or using this book in schools or nurseries, it will support your planning.

I'm pleased to say that you can buy your very own copy right here!

Is Home Education the Right Choice For Our Family? Book

Is Home Education the Right Choice for Our Family? – a resource that offers support, clarity and thinking space to families who are considering home education as an option. Originally, this material was going to be presented as an online, interactive video course (and, indeed, video will be used to support the course when opportunities to film are less restricted by the current situation). I am always asked so many questions about home education in the UK by families considering it as an option, so I've written a book/ journal to help you in the decision making process!

You can grab a copy HERE!!

I believe that the best way to learn is by doing and, no matter what your age, being allowed time and space to play with your ideas is one of the best ways to learn. So, whether you have a project to complete and you are looking for some inspiration, or it’s a cold and rainy day and you are stuck inside wondering what to do, I hope that you enjoy my website and that you are able to learn something new while having lots of fun! Blog:

I have been writing blog posts for many years for all my websites and also for a column for a local newspaper and other media outlets. I've now pooled all of these together along with some excellent posts from my friend and business partner, Louise Burgess. On the blog you will find posts on parenting, education, autism, dyslexia and wellbeing, there are some that will make you laugh, some that will make you cry and some that will make you laugh until you cry, so enjoy!

The posts are split into categories so that you can easily find what you are looking for. I hope that you find them useful. Click here to start reading.

Books:

I am an author and I currently have six books for sale on Amazon in Kindle and paperback format. I write books for children and practical guides for adults. If your kids like stories about Time Travelling Toilets or maybe a Hairy Fairy called Mary, click here to see my work! I have so many creative ideas that there will be plenty more coming your way soon!
